Several hundred water-filled pits dot the acres of public waters. The cabins are situated inside more than 14,000 acres of public land open to hunting, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The cabins will accommodate up to six people. Big Brutus, the 12 million pound electric coal shovel, remains on the Mined Lands Wildlife Area as a reminder of the unique history of this area and is a neat touring opportunity.
